Would you use 2048 credits?

Wow, 2048!

I’m feeling rather special today. 10 things hit a milestone of sorts. For the first time, it cost 2048 credits to advertise your entrecard here. That’s a pretty significant amount–I’ve only seen a few sites with this “price.” Of course, this will go back down. People aren’t going to pay that many credits to advertise here, so the ads in queue will run their course, the price will eventually go back down, and then people will advertise again. I’m still pretty happy.

10 things popularity rating has also increased from 0 (at inception about a month ago) to 355. Now I’m the first to admit that I’m not sure how this is measured, but a 300% increase in popularity in 30 days–I’ll take it.

Now I’m still pretty new at Entrecard, and while I’m not a “power dropper,” I do drop quite a few cards a day. Honestly, my browsing through the Entrecard campaign is what prompted my post Begging for Victims. There is truly a lot of CRAP out there. I don’t drop a lot to inflate my popularity rating. I drop as much as I can to earn credits so I can advertise on other blogs.

What makes me an oddity is the fact that I’m not doing this to make any money. I’m providing a free service. No strings attached. Just a simple review of your site and/or blog. I joined Entrecard as a means to attract “victims” so to speak. So far it’s worked. I have 6 blog owners in line, waiting for their review. (Daniel at Whathuh–your review is almost complete!)

I’ve also discovered some really good blogs. Political, design, personal, humorous. For every 10 crappy blogs, there’s 1 good one. These I bookmark.

I would say that for my purpose, Entrecard has worked for me. I’ll keep evaluating. We’ll see if my ad requests or my review requests slow down. Right now, though, I’m busier than a 1-legged duck.

  1. I’d pay it… if I had it… Keep on blogging consistantly. They will come…

  2. Thanks Daniel! I appreciate the thought. And just like that, I’m back down to 512! :)

  4. I have never yet seen what 2048 credits looks like :) I’m amazed that people can and do pay that amount. I use mine up as fast as I earn them, but I don’t earn them very fast at all. I have been fatigued by all the unbelievable rubbish that I’ve come across in my travels through my inbox. My pet hate is pink and sparkly. My heart sinks every time I see pink.

  5. @Angie: thank you very much! I enjoy writing it (I just wish I could get through the reviews a little quicker :) )

@Sheila: oh my, you hate girly pink, eh? That makes 2 of us! Check this out (possible one of the worst sites I have ever seen!): http[://]pink-glamour[dot]com/

Sorry for URL parts in brackets…I don’t want a link through to this site. :P

  6. I got up there earlier this week. Logged back in later than night, and I had dropped back down to 512, though. Oh well, it was good while it lasted…lol

  7. I’ve gotten as high at 1024 but I could never imagine spending that much for advertising. Never hit 2048 before. Nice job! Even if it was just for a day!
