I like Browser Sandbox, with one exception. It only works (to date) on the crappiest browser: IE.

i gave up on browsershots- i spent a whoel day unable to get IE 78 and IE8 shots so i switched (and reviewed) crossbrowsertesting.com- they are good and cheap.

Thank you SOOOOOOO much! As you knew, I was already in a planning stage about making changes to WRA but had been held up because I just couldn’t nail down what was annoying me about the site. Several of the points you’ve mentioned are exactly the issues that were getting to me and you’ve given me useful ideas on how to fix them.

The header has been frustrating me no end for months now but I hadn’t been able to create an alternative myself. I’m a writer who tinkers in graphics but my tinkering hasn’t been able to create an effective header solution. I think it’s time to go back to the drawing board and start from scratch.

I also wasn’t aware how significantly the header menu was expanding across different browsers. I frequently use a website called Browser Shots (http://browsershots.org/); it takes a snapshot of the Web page as it appears in multiple browsers but a picture doesn’t always offer enough information. I’ll get back to the CSS in that section with the Browser Sandbox and get it behaving the way it should across browsers.

The Unicode and Services are both a slap on the wrist. *hangs head* It’s pure and stupid laziness on my part. They were both in my, “someday” pile but they’ve been there for over a year now and that just isn’t good enough. So, I have a new deadline, blog overhaul for launch on the New Year.

I’m glad you enjoy the content on Writer’s Round-About. I’ve often felt the sense of being stretched too broadly also and have already started to compact down the breadth of WRA to be more specific to writing. You’ve given me direction and purpose. Thank you!
